Lava Boat Tour $165!
Join us on a unique, adventure boat tour to
see molten lava flowing into the ocean from Hawaii's Kilauea
Volcano! Kilauea (on the Big Island of Hawaii), is considered to be
one of the most active volcanoes in the world; erupting continuously
now for over 30 years.
Our boat tours offer a front-row seat to the awesome fireworks
display of this volcano. Molten lava runs downhill from the vents,
fissures and surface cracks on the eastern rift-zone of Kilauea.
When the lava finds its way to the sea a dramatic spectacle of
steam, boiling sea water and exploding red-hot lava is created.
Spend one to one-and-a-half hours viewing the spectacular lava-scapes
of the Big Island of Hawaii. The boat ride out to the active lava
fields is a 35 - 45 minute trip from Isaac Hale Beach Park (Pohoiki).
Tours depart before sunrise and after sunset so that lava viewing in
the dark is also possible. (Sunrise tours have been put on hold at
this time. We will update this page when they are available again.)
Weather permitting additional tours may be added throughout the day.
Our schedules are constantly updated with the available time slots
listed here. At times the lava is diverted from the coastline and
stops flowing into the sea for a time. When this occurs, all boat
tours are put on hold. If you have an existing reservation and the
lava unexpectedly stops entering the sea, you will receive a full
refund on your tour with the option to reschedule.
*This is an extreme adventure tour and
the boat ride can be very bumpy. Pregnant women are not permitted on
this tour. This boat tour is not recommended for anyone with recent
back surgeries/injuries. No children under the age
of 7 are permitted on this tour.
Life vests are provided for all passengers and are required to wear
them at all times. The lava boat holds 6 passengers plus Captain and
crew.
